CASE STUDY – NEW CAMALDOLI HERMITAGE
The Monks of Big Sur
The New Camaldoli Hermitage is located in the Santa Lucia Mountains along the Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) in California. Situated between San Luis Obispo (85 miles to the south) and Monterey (55 miles to the north), the Hermitage was founded in 1958 by two monks from the motherhouse in Camaldoli in Tuscany, who had spent two years searching for a site that combined solitude and natural beauty. It is located at an altitude of approximately 1,300 feet (400 meters), and is approached by a winding road that is nearly two miles long, which gives the visitor a clear view of the landscape and Pacific coastline.
The Hermitage offers both lodging options and spiritual retreat packages.
The Hermitage bookstore offers unique books and gifts and is open to the public.
In addition to an onsite bookstore and gift shop, the Hermitage also aoffers a number of products through an online shop on the website.
The Hermitage has an active number of people who regularly donate through online channels.
A few nice words from current and former clients
It is my pleasure to recommend Steve Schlicht. Steve was my business partner at EffOne Software and did an amazing job for our company. Steve is a rare and exceptional combination of partner, strategist and professional – he is an advocate for both the employee and management. Steve evaluated and assessed our marketing needs and the needs of our business and made recommendations for changes and updates we should consider. Beyond his Marketing campaigns for EffOne, Steve took the time to get to know each individual at our company. He was able to understand our work, needs and challenges, and provided good insight and ideas for improvement. While assessing our marketing strategy, he worked in tandem with management to ensure that his recommendations could be applied and were also a sound, smart choice for the company. Steve works quickly and diligently. He is candid, intelligent and easy to work with; he gives you practical but innovative alternatives and has an approachable and confident communications style that is effective with employees and management.”
Holibaugh & Associates
Steve developed the website for my successful City Council campaign, taking the general concepts and resource material I provided, and turning it into an effective, user-friendly site. He was prompt, easy to work with, made good suggestions, and — most importantly — many voters commented that they found the site very helpful. Thanks, Steve!
Former Mayor, Santa Cruz, CA
Steve has been a tremendous asset to our company and a pleasure to work with. He brings keen awareness of brand development, relevant experience and refreshing insight to our team.
